Who should take the test: Students wishing to study MBA

Who accepts GMAT? All Universities worldwide accept GMAT scores. Primarily, it is required by US Universities for MBA and MS (Management related programs like MS Marketing, MS Finance, etc.). Some top Universities in UK, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Spain and in more Countries accept the GMAT test

Nature / Mode of Test: Computer-Adaptive Standardized Test (CAT) (Many call is as Computer Based Test, CBT)

Test Format / Pattern: What does GMAT include? Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), Quantitative (many of you may call it Quants) & Verbal (detailed information is available below in this page)
Test Duration: 4 hours approximately
Test Scores: Total Score: 800 (Quantitative and Verbal). Analytical Writing Assessment (Essays) is scaled from 0 to 6 scale
What is a good GMAT score? 650 + (We would love to see students getting 700 +. Don’t panic if you get less. There are many Universities which accept score of above 500 to 550 or higher too)
Validity of GMAT Test Score: 5 years
Reporting Official GMAT Score: Mailed in about 3 to 4 weeks after the test is taken

The score is sent to 5 universities by GMAC free of cost at the time of exam.

GMAC charges additionally for scores sent to universities later

When is the GMAT Test Conducted? GMAT test is conducted throughout the year

We recommend you to book at least 2 months in advance

Can you repeat taking the GMAT Test? Yes. Once in a calendar month

Not more than 5 times in a year

Do Universities get to know your first test score if you have taken the test twice? Yes

All the scores and dates are sent to the universities if the test is taken more than once

Where does one Register for the Test ?: ACT – Minnesota
Mode of Registration: Online, Telephonic, Fax or by Post
Proof of Document Required for Registration: Original and Valid Passport is the identification document for students of India
Requirements for Phone / Fax Registration: Name as in the Passport, Address, Credit Card Number, Name of the Cardholder, Expiry date of the card. (The card has to be an International Card)

Confirmation: A registration number is given as terms of confirmation
What should you carry on the day of the test? Passport and registration confirmation
Rescheduling GMAT Test Date: Has to be changed completely due to the 7 full calendar days and within 7 days clause

  • Intimation is to be given to GMAC 7 days prior to the examination date
  • Appointments rescheduled at least 7 full calendar days before the original appointment will incur an additional fee of $50
  • Appointments rescheduled within 7 calendar days of the original appointment will be charged $250, which means that the original testing fee will be forfeited
  • ” The rescheduling fee is subject to change without notice
Cancellation: Has to be changed completely due to the 7 full calendar days and within 7 days clause

  • Intimation is to be given to GMAC 7 days prior to the examination date. If you cancel your test appointment at least 7 full calendar days in advance of the date and time of your appointment, you will receive a partial refund of US$ 80
  • If you cancel your appointment within seven full calendar days of your scheduled test date and time, the entire registration fee will be forfeited
  • The cancellation refund is subject to change without notice
Low GMAT score and cancellation: On the test day, after you have finished the test you are prompted if you want to see the results. Scores can be cancelled before coming out of the test. In this case, your scores will not be sent to the Schools you have selected
